’I have a great love for authentic photography,’ says Maarten, ‘and the silver plates have fascinated me for years. The technique was invented in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer. It is a magical process always surprises and amazes, because you are at the mercy of the elements. Every change in the process gives an unpredictable result: from mixing collodion, bathing in silver, to taking the photo and developing and fixing the plate. Every photo is unique and that's so cool. Pure silver, with a golden edge!‘
